We broadcast the trip report of our colleague Bernadett Kiss, who travelled to France at the end of last year to represent us in another international Erasmus+ project, AMTCC. The goal of the project is to collect all the good examples that the countries of the EU can use to educate disadvantaged or disabled adults. The applied method is to improve the competences during the working process itself. Current participants are Hungary, Belgium, and Portugal.
The Hungarian delegation arrived at the airport of Nizza including hearing impaired colleague of Munka-Kör Foundation Bernadett Kiss. The first leg of the meeting was in Pázenas, France. They met our two partner NGO, who together insure professional education templates on each required competences for every selected professions along which the French associations and organizations can teach their students. At the end of their training, the course template provides the platform to take a successful exam.
One of the organizations collects used clothes from donations which they wash, iron, select and puts on sale in its shop. The procedures teach the professions of fine cleansing, and shopkeeping, to the students. Other ones to acquire are driving, babysitting, and elderly homecare. The city of Pézenas is a small town without public transport service, which means that all workers are delivered back and forth between home and work by drivers. The student of the organization thus can learn the tasks of a driver. The shopkeeping duties are familiarized by the cleaning and selection of the clothes, as well as through the placing of the items in the designated areas in the shop. The homecare service for the elderly is educated in the flats modelling everyday life with all the accompanying furniture and tools. The nursing itself is introduced with the help of real actors, who act out the symptoms of the related diseases.
Anyone with any disability can register at the organization. They first need to go to the employment centre, then is able to continue with the organization, where following a surveillance test, disabled and mentor build up the goals to work on together. The training lasts for 4 months with an exam at the end. A contract lives for four months at first, which can be prolonged until the total duration of 24 months.
As the trip was a very useful event, we will also collect professions for further use and request help from our partners to implement them.
