The Munka-Kör Foundation for the Hearing Impaired has received support for the employment of twenty disabled employees this year.
The staff of the foundation is very happy with the opportunity; they are less happy about the fact that the norm remained at the last year’s level, less than HUF 130,000. From this they would have to pay the rehabilitation counselor, the mentor and the utility bills.
The application’s results are announced every year, and the staff of the foundation, most of them seriously ill, disabled people, find out only at the end of December whether they will have the opportunity to work from January. Such insecurity is not good for anyone, so even for vulnerable groups with often increased mental health problems!
The Munka-Kör Foundation fulfills the provisions of the contract from year to year, while undergoing several inspections. Consideration should be given to allowing such employers to obtain accreditation well in advance of the previous year; this allows their employees to work more calmly or, where appropriate, prepare for change in a timely manner.
There is no money for mentoring from the norm, so the work of the Munka-Kör Foundation for the Hearing Impaired will slow down and they will not be able to respond to all inquiries.
That is why they are still looking for sponsors. They would have to raise millions of forints for the annual salary of at least one mentor; this mentor helps her colleagues with disabilities to understand and be able to perform their duties.
In this, everyone’s support is welcome.
